Chinese (traditional)You shall keep these things that I command you today in your heart. Teach them to your children. You shall talk of them when you are sitting in your home, and when you are walking along the way, and when you lie down and when you rise up. When I am terrified,
I place my trust in you. What then shall we say? Should we persist in sin in order that grace may abound? Of course not! We have died to sin. How can we live in it any longer? Come to me, all you who are weary and overburdened, and I will give you rest. Speak out for those who cannot speak for themselves,
and defend the rights of the destitute. Take heed to follow the commandments and the laws that Moses, the servant of the Lord, gave you: to love the Lord, your God, and to walk in his ways and to observe his commandments, holding fast to him and serving him with all your heart and all your soul. In everything, deal with others as you would like them to deal with you. This is the Law and the Prophets. O Lord, all my longing is known to you,
and my sighs are not hidden from you. Exalted at God’s right hand, he received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit and has poured out what you now see and hear. Rather, put on the Lord Jesus Christ and allow no opportunity for the flesh to gratify its sinful desires. And eternal life is this:
to know you,
the only true God,
and the one you have sent,
Jesus Christ. It is better to take refuge in the Lord
than to place your trust in mortals. May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you may grow rich in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. Deceit is in the heart of those who plot evil,
but those who counsel peace have joy. But whoever drinks the water that I will give him
will never be thirsty.
The water that I will give him
will become a spring of water within him
welling up to eternal life. Call to me and I will answer you and reveal to you great and mysterious secrets about which you are unaware. Teach me your ways, O Lord,
so that I may walk in your truth;
let me worship your name
with an undivided heart. Then he led them out as far as Bethany, and lifting up his hands he blessed them. While he was blessing them, he departed from them and was taken up to heaven. He who called you is holy. Therefore, be holy yourselves in all your conduct. For Scripture says, “Be holy, for I am holy.” Guide my steps in accord with your word
and never let evil triumph over me. Let us never grow weary in doing what is right, for if we do not give up, we will reap our harvest in due time. Therefore, we love because he first loved us. Our God is in heaven;
he does whatever he pleases. For I will provide the weary with all they need, and I will restore the strength of all those who have grown faint with hunger. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vanity, but humbly regard others as better than yourselves. And if one should fall,
his companion will help him up.
How pathetic is the man who is alone and falls
and has no one to assist him to his feet. No one has ever seen God.
It is the only Son, God,
who is at the Father’s side,
who has made him known. O Lord, you are my God.
I will exalt you and praise your name,
for you have accomplished wonderful things,
formulated in ages past, faithful and sure. As long as I remained silent,
my body wasted away
as the result of my groaning throughout the day. Indeed, fornication and impurity of any kind, as well as greed, should not even be mentioned among you. Such talk is not fitting for saints. Do not be deceived; God cannot be mocked. A person will reap only what he sows.
