Chinese (traditional)And whenever you stand in prayer, forgive whatever grievance you have against anybody, so that your Father in heaven may forgive your wrongs too. For you did not receive a spirit of slavery leading to fear; rather, you received the Spirit of adoption, enabling us to cry out, “Abba! Father!” Guard your heart with all possible vigilance,
for from it flow the wellsprings of life. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved; whoever does not believe will be condemned. For this reason, I rejoice when I endure weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and distress for the sake of Christ. For it is when I am weak that I am strong. Even though I wander
through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil,
for you are at my side,
with your rod and your staff
that comfort me. Do not let anyone lead you astray. “Bad company corrupts good morals.” There is no longer Jew or Greek, there is no longer slave or free man, there is no longer male or female. For all of you are one in Christ Jesus. Where many words are spoken, sin is not absent,
but whoever restrains his tongue is prudent. May the God of perseverance and encouragement grant that you may live in harmony with one another, following in the example of Jesus Christ. Blessed is the man who perseveres when he is tempted, for when he has been proven, he will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him. My sacrifice, O God, is a broken spirit;
a contrite and humble heart, O God,
you will not spurn. I will establish my covenant with you: never again will all living creatures be cut off by the waters of a flood, nor will the earth be laid waste by a flood again. If you know me,
then you will know my Father also.
From now on you do know him.
You have seen him. You are all-beautiful, my love,
without the slightest blemish. This is how we know what love is:
he laid down his life for us,
and we in turn must be prepared
to lay down our lives for our brethren. Nothing gives me greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth. But he was pierced for our offenses
and crushed for our iniquity;
the punishment that made us whole fell upon him,
and by his bruises we have been healed. Everyone who sins breaks the law,
for sin is lawlessness. You shall observe my commandments and obey them. I am the Lord. The explanation of your words gives light
and imparts understanding to the simple. Therefore, rid yourselves of everything sordid and of every wicked excess, and welcome in all humility the word that is implanted in you and is able to save your souls. Let your attitude be identical to that of Christ Jesus. I have swept away your transgressions like a cloud
and your sins like a mist.
Return to me,
for I have redeemed you. If we live, we live for the Lord, and if we die, we die for the Lord. Therefore, whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s. I shall forgive them for their wicked deeds,
and I shall remember their sins no more. The Lord will protect you against all evil;
he will watch over your life.
The Lord will watch over your coming and your going
both now and forevermore. Owe nothing to anyone except the debt of love you owe one another. The one who loves others has fulfilled the Law. Brethren, we must always give thanks to God for you, and it is only right that we do so. For your faith grows ever more, and the love that all of you have for one another continues to increase.
