These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Get wisdom, get understanding;
do not forget my words or turn away from them. To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” But whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life. The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters. So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets. All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had. Honor the Lord with your wealth,
with the firstfruits of all your crops. Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. I will refresh the weary and satisfy the faint. Teach me your way, Lord,
that I may rely on your faithfulness;
give me an undivided heart,
that I may fear your name. I urge you, brothers and sisters, to watch out for those who cause divisions and put obstacles in your way that are contrary to the teaching you have learned. Keep away from them. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. There is a way that appears to be right,
but in the end it leads to death. Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them. But the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. But I trust in your unfailing love;
my heart rejoices in your salvation.
I will sing the Lord’s praise,
for he has been good to me. But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.” Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. I instruct you in the way of wisdom
and lead you along straight paths. They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household.” But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken. The Lord is compassionate and gracious,
slow to anger, abounding in love. We love because He first loved us. But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness. Seek the Lord, all you humble of the land,
you who do what he commands.
Seek righteousness, seek humility;
perhaps you will be sheltered
on the day of the Lord’s anger. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves. Sitting down, Jesus called the Twelve and said, “Anyone who wants to be first must be the very last, and the servant of all.” This poor man called, and the Lord heard him;
he saved him out of all his troubles. No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known. May the Lord our God be with us as he was with our ancestors; may he never leave us nor forsake us. Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.Next verse!With image
