Chinese (traditional)Now who will harm you if you are eager to do what is good? And he said to them, “Take care! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; for one's life does not consist in the abundance of possessions.” Riches do not profit in the day of wrath,
but righteousness delivers from death. Do not lag in zeal, be ardent in spirit, serve the Lord. When you are praying, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do; for they think that they will be heard because of their many words. The Lord is just in all his ways,
and kind in all his doings. For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you should follow in his steps. I press on toward the goal for the prize of the heavenly call of God in Christ Jesus. Every word of God proves true;
he is a shield to those who take refuge in him. The Lord your God you shall follow, him alone you shall fear, his commandments you shall keep, his voice you shall obey, him you shall serve, and to him you shall hold fast. Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life.” I love the Lord, because he has heard
my voice and my supplications.
Because he inclined his ear to me,
therefore I will call on him as long as I live. In the day of prosperity be joyful, and in the day of adversity consider; God has made the one as well as the other, so that mortals may not find out anything that will come after them. Very truly, I tell you, servants are not greater than their master, nor are messengers greater than the one who sent them. For the mountains may depart
and the hills be removed,
but my steadfast love shall not depart from you,
and my covenant of peace shall not be removed,
says the Lord, who has compassion on you. To them God chose to make known how great among the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. By this we know that we abide in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit. Learn to do good;
seek justice,
rescue the oppressed,
defend the orphan,
plead for the widow. Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” For the fruit of the light is found in all that is good and right and true. I will instruct you and teach you the way you should go;
I will counsel you with my eye upon you. But be doers of the word, and not merely hearers who deceive themselves. Do not judge, and you will not be judged; do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. Even to your old age I am he,
even when you turn gray I will carry you.
I have made, and I will bear;
I will carry and will save. Those who eat must not despise those who abstain, and those who abstain must not pass judgment on those who eat; for God has welcomed them. For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the children of God. Because your steadfast love is better than life,
my lips will praise you.
So I will bless you as long as I live;
I will lift up my hands and call on your name. Do not repay evil for evil or abuse for abuse; but, on the contrary, repay with a blessing. It is for this that you were called—that you might inherit a blessing. Deceit is in the mind of those who plan evil,
but those who counsel peace have joy. The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases,
his mercies never come to an end;
they are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.Next verse!With image
