Chinese (traditional)For, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” But Scripture has locked up everything under the control of sin, so that what was promised, being given through faith in Jesus Christ, might be given to those who believe. So is my word that goes out from my mouth:
It will not return to me empty,
but will accomplish what I desire
and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak. We ought always to thank God for you, brothers and sisters, and rightly so, because your faith is growing more and more, and the love all of you have for one another is increasing. Surely your goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
forever. Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation. Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Whoever would foster love covers over an offense,
but whoever repeats the matter separates close friends. For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age. Therefore no one will be declared righteous in God’s sight by the works of the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of our sin. Turn from evil and do good;
seek peace and pursue it. Again Jesus said, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.” Words from the mouth of the wise are gracious,
but fools are consumed by their own lips. Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called children of God. And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws. And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. Our help is in the name of the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth. For every house is built by someone, but God is the builder of everything. Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone. The tongue has the power of life and death,
and those who love it will eat its fruit. “Abba, Father,” he said, “everything is possible for you. Take this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will.” That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong. How abundant are the good things
that you have stored up for those who fear you,
that you bestow in the sight of all,
on those who take refuge in you. The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had. In that day you will say:
“Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name;
make known among the nations what he has done,
and proclaim that his name is exalted.” Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. The Lord will vindicate me;
your love, Lord, endures forever—
do not abandon the works of your hands. Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.
