God is light,
and there is no darkness at all in him. - The powerful suffer want and go hungry,
but those who seek the Lord want for no good thing. - Jesus replied,
“This is the work of God:
to believe in the one whom he has sent.” - But the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear him,
on those who trust in his kindness. - Finally, find your strength in the Lord and in his mighty power.
- And every tongue should proclaim
to the glory of God the Father:
Jesus Christ is Lord. - As a deer longs for running streams,
so my soul longs for you, O God. - The Spirit himself bears witness with our Spirit that we are children of God.
- All those who keep his commandments abide in him,
and he abides in them.
And the proof that he abides in us
is the Spirit that he has given us. - But you, O Lord, reign forever;
your throne endures from age to age. - Beloved,
since God loved us so much,
we should love one another. - God is not human, that he should lie,
or the son of man, that he should change his mind.
Does he speak and then not act,
does he promise and then not fulfill it? - Can someone hide in a secret place
so that I cannot see him?
Do I not fill heaven and earth? - I will, thereby, display my greatness and my holiness and make myself known to many nations. Then they will know that I am the Lord.
- However, God has revealed these things to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit explores everything, even the depths of God.
- God created mankind in his image, in the image of God he created them, male and female he created them.
