- Yet I have been the Lord your God
ever since the land of Egypt;
you know no God but me,
and besides me there is no savior. - Happy is the nation whose God is the Lord,
the people whom he has chosen as his heritage. - So I will display my greatness and my holiness and make myself known in the eyes of many nations. Then they shall know that I am the Lord.
- Hear, O Israel: The Lord is our God, the Lord alone. You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might.
- What then are we to say about these things? If God is for us, who is against us?
- God is faithful; by him you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
- But do not ignore this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like one day.
- Let every person be subject to the governing authorities; for there is no authority except from God, and those authorities that exist have been instituted by God.
- The earth is the Lord's and all that is in it,
the world, and those who live in it. - The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with all of you.
- Then God said, “Let us make humankind in our image, according to our likeness; and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the wild animals of the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth.”
- I will be glad and exult in you;
I will sing praise to your name, O Most High. - For who is God, but the Lord?
And who is a rock, except our God? - Adulterers! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.
- Our God is in the heavens;
he does whatever he pleases. - The Almighty —we cannot find him;
he is great in power and justice,
and abundant righteousness he will not violate. - He reveals deep and hidden things;
he knows what is in the darkness,
and light dwells with him. - Who builds his upper chambers in the heavens,
and founds his vault upon the earth;
who calls for the waters of the sea,
and pours them out upon the surface of the earth—
the Lord is his name. - For a thousand years in your sight
are like yesterday when it is past,
or like a watch in the night. - And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying,
“See, the home of God is among mortals.
He will dwell with them as their God;
they will be his peoples,
and God himself will be with them;
he will wipe every tear from their eyes.
Death will be no more;
mourning and crying and pain will be no more,
for the first things have passed away.” - I will sanctify my great name, which has been profaned among the nations, and which you have profaned among them; and the nations shall know that I am the Lord, says the Lord God, when through you I display my holiness before their eyes.
- And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, the Beloved, with whom I am well pleased.”
- You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the demons believe—and shudder.
- This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, says the Lord of hosts.
- And ‘to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the strength,’ and ‘to love one's neighbor as oneself,’—this is much more important than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.
