- This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light and in him there is no darkness at all.
- Even though you intended to do harm to me, God intended it for good, in order to preserve a numerous people, as he is doing today.
- Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his power.
- And every tongue should confess
that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father. - By this we know that we abide in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit.
- Be still, and know that I am God!
I am exalted among the nations;
I am exalted in the earth. - Truly the eye of the Lord is on those who fear him,
on those who hope in his steadfast love. - Before the mountains were brought forth
or ever you had formed the earth and the world,
from everlasting to everlasting you are God. - Who has performed and done this,
calling the generations from the beginning?
I, the Lord, am first
and will be with the last. - And this is eternal life, that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.
- May God continue to bless us;
let all the ends of the earth revere him. - All who obey his commandments abide in him, and he abides in them. And by this we know that he abides in us, by the Spirit that he has given us.
- O the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways!
- The young lions suffer want and hunger,
but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing. - Jesus answered them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he has sent.”
- Thus you shall keep my commandments and observe them: I am the Lord.
- It is that very Spirit bearing witness with our spirit that we are children of God.
- As a deer longs for flowing streams,
so my soul longs for you, O God. - But you, O Lord, reign forever;
your throne endures to all generations. - Who can hide in secret places so that I cannot see them? says the Lord. Do I not fill heaven and earth? says the Lord.
- What then are we to say about these things? If God is for us, who is against us?
- God is not a human being, that he should lie,
or a mortal, that he should change his mind.
Has he promised, and will he not do it?
Has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it? - No, in all these things we are more than victorious through him who loved us.
- Beloved, since God loved us so much, we also ought to love one another.
- God is faithful, by whom you were called into the partnership of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
