- Whoever possesses the Son
possesses life;
whoever does not possess the Son of God
does not possess life. - For us there is
one God, the Father,
from whom all things are
and for whom we exist,
and one Lord, Jesus Christ,
through whom all things are
and through whom we exist. - Jesus addressed them once again, saying,
“I am the light of the world.
The one who follows me
will never walk in darkness.
Rather, he will have the light of life.” - Listen, my son, and take my words to heart,
and the years of your life will be multiplied. - For thus says the One who is high and exalted,
who lives eternally
and whose name is holy:
I dwell in a high and holy place
but I am with the contrite and the humble,
to revive the spirit of the humble
and to revive the heart of the contrite. - I reprove and discipline all those whom I love. Therefore, be sincere in your desire to repent.
- For thus says the Lord to the house of Israel:
If you seek me, you will survive. - The Lord redeems the lives of those who serve him;
no one will be condemned who takes refuge in him. - The earth is the Lord’s and everything in it,
the world and all who live in it. - You intended to do evil to me, but God decided to make it serve a good, to fulfill that which today has come true: to keep alive a numerous people.
- You shall be holy, for I, the Lord, am holy. I have chosen you from among all people that you shall be mine.
- Teach me your ways, O Lord,
so that I may walk in your truth;
let me worship your name
with an undivided heart. - This is the end of my teaching.
All has been heard.
Fear God and keep his commandments,
for that is the responsibility of everyone. - Through him all things came into existence,
and without him there was nothing.
That which came to be. - I am pulled in opposite directions. My desire is to depart and to be with Christ, for that is far better, but, it is a more urgent need for you that I remain in the body.
- Blessed are those whose way is blameless,
who walk in accord with the law of the Lord. - By his own choice he gave us birth through the way of truth so that we may be a kind of firstfruits of all his creation.
- Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that weighs us down and the sins that so easily distract us and with perseverance run the race that lies ahead of us.
- For the love of Christ urges us forward, once we conclude that one has died for all, and therefore all have died. And he died for all, so that those who live might no longer live for themselves, but for him who for their sakes died and was raised to life.
- His divine power has bestowed on us everything that is necessary for life and for devotion through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and virtue.
- For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it.
- For we will become partners with Christ only if we maintain firmly until the end the confidence we originally had.
- Anyone who is victorious will be dressed like these in white robes, and I shall not blot his name from the book of life. Rather, I shall acknowledge it in the presence of my Father and his angels.
- The proud man’s heart is not upright,
but the righteous man will live
because of his faith. - Produce good fruit as proof of your repentance.
