- For His anger is but for a moment,
His favor is for life;
Weeping may endure for a night,
But joy comes in the morning. - The Lord is merciful and gracious,
Slow to anger, and abounding in mercy. - Because Your lovingkindness is better than life,
My lips shall praise You.
Thus I will bless You while I live;
I will lift up my hands in Your name. - You shall not hate your brother in your heart. You shall surely rebuke your neighbor, and not bear sin because of him. You shall not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the children of your people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the Lord.
- But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love.

Your mercy, O Lord, will hold me up. - For this is the message that you heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.
- Let brotherly love continue. Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some have unwittingly entertained angels.

But My kindness shall not depart from you,
Nor shall My covenant of peace be removed,”
Says the Lord, who has mercy on you. - Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.
- For Your mercy reaches unto the heavens,
And Your truth unto the clouds. - So he answered and said, “ ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind,’ and ‘your neighbor as yourself.’ ”
- Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
- Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.
- A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.
- If you love Me, keep My commandments.
- And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
- For You, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive,
And abundant in mercy to all those who call upon You. - For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
- In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him.
- As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent.
