24 Bible Verses about Patience - NIV & ESV

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful.
Whoever is patient has great understanding,
but one who is quick-tempered displays folly.
Whoever is slow to anger has great understanding,
but he who has a hasty temper exalts folly.
Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.With all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love.
Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.
But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.
Better a patient person than a warrior,
one with self-control than one who takes a city.
Whoever is slow to anger is better than the mighty,
and he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city.
Be still before the Lord
and wait patiently for him;
do not fret when people succeed in their ways,
when they carry out their wicked schemes.
Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him;
fret not yourself over the one who prospers in his way,
over the man who carries out evil devices!
Wait for the Lord;
be strong and take heart
and wait for the Lord.
Wait for the Lord;
be strong, and let your heart take courage;
wait for the Lord!
The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to be silent.
The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.
Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience.
May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had.May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus.
For his anger lasts only a moment,
but his favor lasts a lifetime;
weeping may stay for the night,
but rejoicing comes in the morning.
For his anger is but for a moment,
and his favor is for a lifetime.
Weeping may tarry for the night,
but joy comes with the morning.
In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice;
in the morning I lay my requests before you
and wait expectantly.
O Lord, in the morning you hear my voice;
in the morning I prepare a sacrifice for you and watch.
Yet the Lord longs to be gracious to you;
therefore he will rise up to show you compassion.
For the Lord is a God of justice.
Blessed are all who wait for him!
Therefore the Lord waits to be gracious to you,
and therefore he exalts himself to show mercy to you.
For the Lord is a God of justice;
blessed are all those who wait for him.
The Lord is compassionate and gracious,
slow to anger, abounding in love.
The Lord is merciful and gracious,
slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.
But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his immense patience as an example for those who would believe in him and receive eternal life.But I received mercy for this reason, that in me, as the foremost, Jesus Christ might display his perfect patience as an example to those who were to believe in him for eternal life.
But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come.Therefore, stay awake, for you do not know on what day your Lord is coming.
Rend your heart
and not your garments.
Return to the Lord your God,
for he is gracious and compassionate,
slow to anger and abounding in love,
and he relents from sending calamity.
And rend your hearts and not your garments.
Return to the Lord your God,
for he is gracious and merciful,
slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love;
and he relents over disaster.
Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction.Preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching.
But the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.But the one who endures to the end will be saved.
I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.I am coming soon. Hold fast what you have, so that no one may seize your crown.
Bible verse of the day
james 1:9-10
Believers in humble circumstances ought to take pride in their high position. But the rich should take pride in their humiliation—since they will pass away like a wild flower.
