- The Lord is good,
a refuge in times of trouble.
He cares for those who trust in him. - For who is God besides the Lord?
And who is the Rock except our God? - Learn to do right; seek justice.
Defend the oppressed.
Take up the cause of the fatherless;
plead the case of the widow. - The Lord will rescue his servants;
no one who takes refuge in him will be condemned. - Truly he is my rock and my salvation;
he is my fortress, I will never be shaken. - As for God, his way is perfect:
The Lord’s word is flawless;
he shields all who take refuge in him. - For he guards the course of the just
and protects the way of his faithful ones. - Do not withhold your mercy from me, Lord;
may your love and faithfulness always protect me. - ‘Never again will they hunger;
never again will they thirst.
The sun will not beat down on them,’
nor any scorching heat.
For the Lamb at the center of the throne
will be their shepherd;
‘he will lead them to springs of living water.’
‘And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.’ - The prudent see danger and take refuge,
but the simple keep going and pay the penalty. - Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.
- If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy that person; for God’s temple is sacred, and you together are that temple.
- The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed,
a stronghold in times of trouble. - He holds success in store for the upright,
he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless. - Truly he is my rock and my salvation;
he is my fortress, I will not be shaken. - And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one. - Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
- Surely, Lord, you bless the righteous;
you surround them with your favor as with a shield. - The Lord said to Satan, “Very well, then, everything he has is in your power, but on the man himself do not lay a finger.” Then Satan went out from the presence of the Lord.
- The Lord watches over the foreigner
and sustains the fatherless and the widow,
but he frustrates the ways of the wicked. - You, Lord, keep my lamp burning;
my God turns my darkness into light. - Seek the Lord, all you humble of the land,
you who do what he commands.
Seek righteousness, seek humility;
perhaps you will be sheltered
on the day of the Lord’s anger. - Surely the righteous will never be shaken;
they will be remembered forever.
This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the Lord Almighty. But who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to give as generously as this? Everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand.Next verse!With image
