- It is a snare to the man who devoureth that which is holy,
and after vows to make enquiry. - Many are the afflictions of the righteous:
but the Lord delivereth him out of them all. - Open thy mouth, judge righteously,
and plead the cause of the poor and needy. - Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
- Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
- Cast thy burden upon the Lord,
and he shall sustain thee:
he shall never suffer
the righteous to be moved. - But let judgment run down as waters,
and righteousness as a mighty stream. - Learn to do well; seek judgment,
relieve the oppressed,
judge the fatherless,
plead for the widow. - Then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment,
and equity; yea, every good path. - For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
- Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things.
- Search me, O God, and know my heart:
try me, and know my thoughts:
And see if there be any wicked way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting. - Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake:
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. - Righteousness exalteth a nation:
but sin is a reproach to any people. - For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.
- He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good;
and what doth the Lord require of thee,
but to do justly, and to love mercy,
and to walk humbly with thy God? - Better is a little with righteousness
than great revenues without right. - For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.
- An hypocrite with his mouth destroyeth his neighbour:
but through knowledge shall the just be delivered. - Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.
- Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
- For the Lord is our judge,
the Lord is our lawgiver,
the Lord is our king;
he will save us. - But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference.
- A little that a righteous man hath
is better than the riches of many wicked.
For the arms of the wicked shall be broken:
but the Lord upholdeth the righteous. - He loveth righteousness and judgment:
the earth is full of the goodness of the Lord.
There is a way which seemeth right unto a man,
but the end thereof are the ways of death.Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit.
