- In the day of prosperity be joyful, and in the day of adversity consider; God has made the one as well as the other, so that mortals may not find out anything that will come after them.
- For in it the righteousness of God is revealed through faith for faith; as it is written, “The one who is righteous will live by faith.”

and one person sharpens the wits of another. - To the one who conquers I will give a place with me on my throne, just as I myself conquered and sat down with my Father on his throne.
- Pray then in this way:
Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name.
Your kingdom come.
Your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven. - All who have sinned apart from the law will also perish apart from the law, and all who have sinned under the law will be judged by the law.
- I will not leave you orphaned; I am coming to you.
- But fornication and impurity of any kind, or greed, must not even be mentioned among you, as is proper among saints.
- So that, just as sin exercised dominion in death, so grace might also exercise dominion through justification leading to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
- For just as by the one man's disobedience the many were made sinners, so by the one man's obedience the many will be made righteous.
- But if we walk in the light as he himself is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.
- I will greatly rejoice in the Lord,
my whole being shall exult in my God;
for he has clothed me with the garments of salvation,
he has covered me with the robe of righteousness,
as a bridegroom decks himself with a garland,
and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels. - So then, a sabbath rest still remains for the people of God; for those who enter God's rest also cease from their labors as God did from his.
- For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God.
- Observe the sabbath day and keep it holy, as the Lord your God commanded you. Six days you shall labor and do all your work. But the seventh day is a sabbath to the Lord your God; you shall not do any work—you, or your son or your daughter, or your male or female slave, or your ox or your donkey, or any of your livestock, or the resident alien in your towns, so that your male and female slave may rest as well as you.
- Instead, as he who called you is holy, be holy yourselves in all your conduct; for it is written, “You shall be holy, for I am holy.”
- Bear with one another and, if anyone has a complaint against another, forgive each other; just as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.
- For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ.
- Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not let them be afraid.
- Each of you must give as you have made up your mind, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
- Just as you do not know how the breath comes to the bones in the mother's womb, so you do not know the work of God, who makes everything.
- For God is not unjust; he will not overlook your work and the love that you showed for his sake in serving the saints, as you still do.
- Happy is the nation whose God is the Lord,
the people whom he has chosen as his heritage. - When you are praying, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do; for they think that they will be heard because of their many words.
- They shall be mine, says the Lord of hosts, my special possession on the day when I act, and I will spare them as parents spare their children who serve them.
