Don’t be fooled by those who say such things, for “bad company corrupts good character.” | Do not be deceived: “Bad company corrupts good morals.” |
Jesus replied, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry again. Whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.” | Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; the one who comes to Me will not be hungry, and the one who believes in Me will never be thirsty.” |
Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying. | Rejoicing in hope, persevering in tribulation, devoted to prayer. |
But someone who does not know, and then does something wrong, will be punished only lightly. When someone has been given much, much will be required in return; and when someone has been entrusted with much, even more will be required. | But the one who did not know it, and committed acts deserving of a beating, will receive only a few blows. From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and to whom they entrusted much, of him they will ask all the more. |
Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord. | Wait for the Lord; Be strong and let your heart take courage; Yes, wait for the Lord. |
Anyone who speaks against the Son of Man can be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven, either in this world or in the world to come. | And whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man, it shall be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it shall not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the age to come. |
Timothy, my dear son, be strong through the grace that God gives you in Christ Jesus. | You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. |

Just as everyone dies because we all belong to Adam, everyone who belongs to Christ will be given new life. | For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive. |
I will be filled with joy because of you. I will sing praises to your name, O Most High. | I will rejoice and be jubilant in You; I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High. |
