Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. | Cast all your anxiety on him, because he cares for you. |
What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him? | What are human beings that you are mindful of them, mortals that you care for them? |
|
Honour widows that are widows indeed. | Honor widows who are really widows. |
Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. | Take care, brothers and sisters, that none of you may have an evil, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God. |
And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth. | And he said to them, “Take care! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; for one's life does not consist in the abundance of possessions.” |
He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful. | As for what was sown among thorns, this is the one who hears the word, but the cares of the world and the lure of wealth choke the word, and it yields nothing. |
Wherefore now let the fear of the Lord be upon you; take heed and do it: for there is no iniquity with the Lord our God, nor respect of persons, nor taking of gifts. | Now, let the fear of the Lord be upon you; take care what you do, for there is no perversion of justice with the Lord our God, or partiality, or taking of bribes. |
For the Lord is our judge, the Lord is our lawgiver, the Lord is our king; he will save us. | For the Lord is our judge, the Lord is our ruler, the Lord is our king; he will save us. |
Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. | My friends, if anyone is detected in a transgression, you who have received the Spirit should restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness. Take care that you yourselves are not tempted. |
So we fasted and besought our God for this: and he was intreated of us. | So we fasted and petitioned our God for this, and he listened to our entreaty. |
Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved. | Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved. |
The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him. | The Lord is good, a stronghold in a day of trouble; he protects those who take refuge in him. |
Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof. | So do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring worries of its own. Today's trouble is enough for today. |
But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. | And my God will fully satisfy every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. |
And even to your old age I am he; and even to hoar hairs will I carry you: I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you. | Even to your old age I am he, even when you turn gray I will carry you. I have made, and I will bear; I will carry and will save. |
But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel. | And whoever does not provide for relatives, and especially for family members, has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever. |
A little that a righteous man hath is better than the riches of many wicked. For the arms of the wicked shall be broken: but the Lord upholdeth the righteous. | Better is a little that the righteous person has than the abundance of many wicked. For the arms of the wicked shall be broken, but the Lord upholds the righteous. |
Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. | I urge you, brothers and sisters, to keep an eye on those who cause dissensions and offenses, in opposition to the teaching that you have learned; avoid them. |
Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world. | Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to care for orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world. |

He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. | He was despised and rejected by others; a man of suffering and acquainted with infirmity; and as one from whom others hide their faces he was despised, and we held him of no account. |
Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows. | Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. And even the hairs of your head are all counted. So do not be afraid; you are of more value than many sparrows. |
