  • And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye?
  • I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;
    I will guide you with My eye.
  • Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him,
    On those who hope in His mercy.

  • Though an army may encamp against me,
    My heart shall not fear;
    Though war may rise against me,
    In this I will be confident.
  • Now I urge you, brethren, note those who cause divisions and offenses, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and avoid them.
  • Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity.
  • Do not envy the oppressor,
    And choose none of his ways;
    For the perverse person is an abomination to the Lord,
    But His secret counsel is with the upright.
  • One who turns away his ear from hearing the law,
    Even his prayer is an abomination.
  • Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God.
  • Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord,
    But those who deal truthfully are His delight.
  • Houses and riches are an inheritance from fathers,
    But a prudent wife is from the Lord.
  • For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.
  • Because the sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.
  • A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.
  • But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.”
  • Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.
  • A fool’s wrath is known at once,
    But a prudent man covers shame.
  • And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.

    And righteousness like a mighty stream.
  • Therefore concerning the eating of things offered to idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is no other God but one.
  • It is honorable for a man to stop striving,
    Since any fool can start a quarrel.
  • He who covers a transgression seeks love,
    But he who repeats a matter separates friends.
  • A man has joy by the answer of his mouth,
    And a word spoken in due season, how good it is!
  • Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble; for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
  • But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment.
  • However, for this reason I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might show all longsuffering, as a pattern to those who are going to believe on Him for everlasting life.
  • And remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt, and the Lord your God brought you out from there by a mighty hand and by an outstretched arm; therefore the Lord your God commanded you to keep the Sabbath day.
  • Nevertheless in Your great mercy
    You did not utterly consume them nor forsake them;
    For You are God, gracious and merciful.
  • But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear.
  • Now a mediator does not mediate for one only, but God is one.
  • I will praise You with uprightness of heart,
    When I learn Your righteous judgments.
  • There is also an antitype which now saves us—baptism (not the removal of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God), through the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
  • Who can find a virtuous wife?
    For her worth is far above rubies.
  • To everything there is a season,
    A time for every purpose under heaven.
  • And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world.
  • For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.
  • For His anger is but for a moment,
    His favor is for life;
    Weeping may endure for a night,
    But joy comes in the morning.
  • A faithful witness does not lie,
    But a false witness will utter lies.
  • Teach me Your way, O Lord;
    I will walk in Your truth;
    Unite my heart to fear Your name.
