they fly away as an eagle toward heaven. - For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.
- Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.
- For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps.
- It is an honour for a man to cease from strife:
but every fool will be meddling. - But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.
- And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.
- And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.
- Though an host should encamp against me,
my heart shall not fear:
though war should rise against me,
in this will I be confident. - Thy testimonies have I taken as an heritage for ever:
for they are the rejoicing of my heart. - Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.
- Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.
- Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.
- And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.
- For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.
- For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
- Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.
- A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.
- For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
- A fool's wrath is presently known:
but a prudent man covereth shame. - But let judgment run down as waters,
and righteousness as a mighty stream. - He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law,
even his prayer shall be abomination. - Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
- Lying lips are abomination to the Lord:
but they that deal truly are his delight. - As concerning therefore the eating of those things that are offered in sacrifice unto idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is none other God but one.
- For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
- But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear.
- He that covereth a transgression seeketh love;
but he that repeateth a matter separateth very friends. - House and riches are the inheritance of fathers:
and a prudent wife is from the Lord. - A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth:
and a word spoken in due season, how good is it! - The rich man's wealth is his strong city,
and as an high wall in his own conceit. - Envy thou not the oppressor,
and choose none of his ways.
For the froward is abomination to the Lord:
but his secret is with the righteous. - Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall: For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
- Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.
- O that there were such an heart in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, that it might be well with them, and with their children for ever!
- But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
- Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
- Nevertheless for thy great mercies' sake thou didst not utterly consume them, nor forsake them; for thou art a gracious and merciful God.
- And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein.
- But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.

sweet to the soul, and health to the bones. - I will praise thee with uprightness of heart,
when I shall have learned thy righteous judgments. - Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother's way.
