And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.Such hope will not be doomed to disappointment, because the love of God has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us.

But you must never eat any meat that still has the lifeblood in it.Whatever moves and has life will be used for your food. And he will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. For a child has been born to us, a son has been given to us. Upon his shoulders dominion rests, and this is the name he has been given: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.

Because of the privilege and authority God has given me, I give each of you this warning: Don’t think you are better than you really are. Be honest in your evaluation of yourselves, measuring yourselves by the faith God has given us.Through the grace that God has bestowed upon me, I advise every one of you not to think of yourself too highly, but to regard yourself objectively, based on the measure of faith that God has granted.
I thank and praise you, God of my ancestors, for you have given me wisdom and strength. You have told me what we asked of you and revealed to us what the king demanded. To you, O God of my fathers, I offer thanks and praise because you have given me wisdom and power. Now you have made known to me what we asked of you; you have revealed to us the king’s dream.
If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking. If someone among you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives to all generously and without finding fault, and it will be given to him.

When someone has been given much, much will be required in return; and when someone has been entrusted with much, even more will be required. But the one who did not know those wishes, and who acted in such a manner as to deserve a beating, will be beaten less severely.
