- But surely, God is my helper;
the Lord is the upholder of my life. - So we can say with confidence,
“The Lord is my helper;
I will not be afraid.
What can anyone do to me?” - Then the Lord God said, “It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper as his partner.”

and I caused the widow's heart to sing for joy. - And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, to be with you forever.

my fortress; I shall never be shaken. - God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.

the Lord, my God, lights up my darkness. - For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

in him my heart trusts;
so I am helped, and my heart exults,
and with my song I give thanks to him. - God is faithful; by him you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
- When the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who comes from the Father, he will testify on my behalf.
- But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything, and remind you of all that I have said to you.
- I delight to do your will, O my God;
your law is within my heart. - The Lord is my light and my salvation;
whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my life;
of whom shall I be afraid? - For God alone my soul waits in silence,
for my hope is from him. - This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light and in him there is no darkness at all.
- And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, the Beloved, with whom I am well pleased.”
- Nevertheless I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you.
- Honor your father and your mother, so that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you.
- For the Lord your God is gracious and merciful, and will not turn away his face from you, if you return to him.
- For in it the righteousness of God is revealed through faith for faith; as it is written, “The one who is righteous will live by faith.”
- Know therefore that the Lord your God is God, the faithful God who maintains covenant loyalty with those who love him and keep his commandments, to a thousand generations.

for the living God.
When shall I come and behold
the face of God? - O God, you are my God, I seek you,
my soul thirsts for you;
my flesh faints for you,
as in a dry and weary land where there is no water. - I hereby command you: Be strong and courageous; do not be frightened or dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.
- For who is God except the Lord?
And who is a rock besides our God? - For who is God, but the Lord?
And who is a rock, except our God? - God abides in those who confess that Jesus is the Son of God, and they abide in God.
- For God is not unjust; he will not overlook your work and the love that you showed for his sake in serving the saints, as you still do.
- The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures;
he leads me beside still waters. - For God alone my soul waits in silence;
from him comes my salvation.
