- Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.
- Have you not known? Have you not heard?
The Lord is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He does not faint or grow weary;
his understanding is unsearchable. - Jesus said to him, “If you would be perfect, go, sell what you possess and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.”
- In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace.
- This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
- Can a woman forget her nursing child,
that she should have no compassion on the son of her womb?
Even these may forget,
yet I will not forget you.
Behold, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands;
your walls are continually before me. - Let brotherly love continue. Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.
- But I with the voice of thanksgiving
will sacrifice to you;
what I have vowed I will pay.
Salvation belongs to the Lord! - If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments and abide in his love.
- Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
- Oh, how abundant is your goodness,
which you have stored up for those who fear you
and worked for those who take refuge in you,
in the sight of the children of mankind! - I made known to them your name, and I will continue to make it known, that the love with which you have loved me may be in them, and I in them.
- And God said, “Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the face of all the earth, and every tree with seed in its fruit. You shall have them for food.”
- For we have come to share in Christ, if indeed we hold our original confidence firm to the end.
- O Lord, you have searched me and known me!
You know when I sit down and when I rise up;
you discern my thoughts from afar. - Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
- So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.
- So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.
- You have given me the shield of your salvation,
and your right hand supported me,
and your gentleness made me great.
You gave a wide place for my steps under me,
and my feet did not slip. - Deep calls to deep
at the roar of your waterfalls;
all your breakers and your waves
have gone over me. - For so the Lord has commanded us, saying,
‘I have made you a light for the Gentiles,
that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.’ - For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
- Therefore you are great, O Lord God. For there is none like you, and there is no God besides you, according to all that we have heard with our ears.
- For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin.
- While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.”
