- But when he heard it, he said, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick.”

- And Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit in the wilderness for forty days, being tempted by the devil. And he ate nothing during those days. And when they were ended, he was hungry.

he was despised, and we esteemed him not. - He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.
- The steps of a man are established by the Lord,
when he delights in his way. - And he said to them, “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.”
- The Lord is good,
a stronghold in the day of trouble;
he knows those who take refuge in him. - Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord,
the people whom he has chosen as his heritage! - For the Lord is our judge;
the Lord is our lawgiver;
the Lord is our king;
he will save us. - And in Hades, being in torment, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham far off and Lazarus at his side. And he called out, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus to dip the end of his finger in water and cool my tongue, for I am in anguish in this flame.’
- Then the other disciple, who had reached the tomb first, also went in, and he saw and believed; for as yet they did not understand the Scripture, that he must rise from the dead.
- And he answered them, “Whoever has two tunics is to share with him who has none, and whoever has food is to do likewise.”
