His (4/4)

  • Fear of the Lord is the foundation of true wisdom.
    All who obey his commandments will grow in wisdom.
    Praise him forever!
  • He gave his life to free us from every kind of sin, to cleanse us, and to make us his very own people, totally committed to doing good deeds.
  • Then, calling the crowd to join his disciples, he said, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross, and follow me.”
  • For in him we live and move and exist. As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring.’
  • So obey the commands of the Lord your God by walking in his ways and fearing him.
  • No one has ever seen God. But if we love each other, God lives in us, and his love is brought to full expression in us.
  • For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.
  • So God created human beings in his own image.
    In the image of God he created them;
    male and female he created them.
  • And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.
  • If you cling to your life, you will lose it; but if you give up your life for me, you will find it.
  • So again I say, each man must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.
  • And he went to the place of the dead. There, in torment, he saw Abraham in the far distance with Lazarus at his side. The rich man shouted, ‘Father Abraham, have some pity! Send Lazarus over here to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue. I am in anguish in these flames.’
  • God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him.
  • And the Lord will be king over all the earth. On that day there will be one Lord—his name alone will be worshiped.
  • Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and glorify and honor the King of heaven. All his acts are just and true, and he is able to humble the proud.
  • A wise child brings joy to a father;

  • The Son radiates God’s own glory and expresses the very character of God, and he sustains everything by the mighty power of his command. When he had cleansed us from our sins, he sat down in the place of honor at the right hand of the majestic God in heaven.
  • Don’t envy violent people
    or copy their ways.
    Such wicked people are detestable to the Lord,
    but he offers his friendship to the godly.
  • This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.
  • God detests the prayers
    of a person who ignores the law.
  • Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else?
  • When God raised up his servant, Jesus, he sent him first to you people of Israel, to bless you by turning each of you back from your sinful ways.
  • Job stood up and tore his robe in grief. Then he shaved his head and fell to the ground to worship.
    He said,
    “I came naked from my mother’s womb,
    and I will be naked when I leave.
    The Lord gave me what I had,
    and the Lord has taken it away.
    Praise the name of the Lord!”
