- Riches profit not in the day of wrath:
but righteousness delivereth from death. - The rich man's wealth is his strong city,
and as an high wall in his own conceit. - Treasures of wickedness profit nothing:
but righteousness delivereth from death. - I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.
- But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?
- Every man also to whom God hath given riches and wealth, and hath given him power to eat thereof, and to take his portion, and to rejoice in his labour; this is the gift of God.
- I have rejoiced in the way of thy testimonies,
as much as in all riches. - Both riches and honour come of thee, and thou reignest over all; and in thine hand is power and might; and in thine hand it is to make great, and to give strength unto all.
- Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.
- House and riches are the inheritance of fathers:
and a prudent wife is from the Lord. - The Lord maketh poor, and maketh rich:
he bringeth low, and lifteth up. - Better is a little with righteousness
than great revenues without right. - Incline my heart unto thy testimonies,
and not to covetousness. - But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land? Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.
- As sorrowful, yet alway rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.
- And the Lord turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before.
- A good man sheweth favour, and lendeth:
he will guide his affairs with discretion. - When goods increase, they are increased that eat them: and what good is there to the owners thereof, saving the beholding of them with their eyes?
- The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again:
but the righteous sheweth mercy, and giveth. - The rich ruleth over the poor,
and the borrower is servant to the lender. - Let the brother of low degree rejoice in that he is exalted: But the rich, in that he is made low: because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away.
- He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.
- The ransom of a man's life are his riches:
but the poor heareth not rebuke. - Ye shall not make with me gods of silver, neither shall ye make unto you gods of gold.
With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love. For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world.Next verse!With image
