- With the Lord on my side I do not fear.
What can mortals do to me? - For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
nor are your ways my ways, says the Lord. - Little children, let us love, not in word or speech, but in truth and action.
- Turn my heart to your decrees,
and not to selfish gain. - Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten in God's sight. But even the hairs of your head are all counted. Do not be afraid; you are of more value than many sparrows.
- Do not lag in zeal, be ardent in spirit, serve the Lord.
- So then let us not fall asleep as others do, but let us keep awake and be sober.
- Train children in the right way,
and when old, they will not stray. - You shall not covet your neighbor's house; you shall not covet your neighbor's wife, or male or female slave, or ox, or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.
- The Lord is not slow about his promise, as some think of slowness, but is patient with you, not wanting any to perish, but all to come to repentance.
- If you will not listen, if you will not lay it to heart to give glory to my name, says the Lord of hosts, then I will send the curse on you and I will curse your blessings; indeed I have already cursed them, because you do not lay it to heart.
- Have you not known? Have you not heard?
The Lord is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He does not faint or grow weary;
his understanding is unsearchable. - But be doers of the word, and not merely hearers who deceive themselves.
- But if you do not forgive others, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
- O Lord, all my longing is known to you;
my sighing is not hidden from you. - Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
- Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them.
- Do not wear yourself out to get rich;
be wise enough to desist. - Of all that live in water you may eat these: whatever has fins and scales you may eat. And whatever does not have fins and scales you shall not eat; it is unclean for you.
- I keep the Lord always before me;
because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. - For God is not unjust; he will not overlook your work and the love that you showed for his sake in serving the saints, as you still do.

- You shall not hate in your heart anyone of your kin; you shall reprove your neighbor, or you will incur guilt yourself. You shall not take vengeance or bear a grudge against any of your people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the Lord.
- From the same mouth come blessing and cursing. My brothers and sisters, this ought not to be so.
- How happy is the one whom God reproves;
therefore do not despise the discipline of the Almighty.
