Bible Verses about 'Own'

  • But because there is so much sexual immorality, each man should have his own wife, and each woman should have her own husband.
  • Don’t be concerned for your own good but for the good of others.
  • In the same way, husbands ought to love their wives as they love their own bodies. For a man who loves his wife actually shows love for himself.
  • And why worry about a speck in your friend’s eye when you have a log in your own?
  • For in him we live and move and exist. As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring.’
  • People may be right in their own eyes,
    but the Lord examines their heart.
  • When you see the tassels, you will remember and obey all the commands of the Lord instead of following your own desires and defiling yourselves, as you are prone to do.
  • So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.
  • Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else?
  • They did not conquer the land with their swords;
    it was not their own strong arm that gave them victory.
    It was your right hand and strong arm
    and the blinding light from your face that helped them,
    for you loved them.
  • Fools have no interest in understanding;
    they only want to air their own opinions.
  • Don’t be impressed with your own wisdom.
    Instead, fear the Lord and turn away from evil.
    Then you will have healing for your body
    and strength for your bones.
  • Trust in the Lord with all your heart;
    do not depend on your own understanding.
    Seek his will in all you do,
    and he will show you which path to take.
  • He gave his life to free us from every kind of sin, to cleanse us, and to make us his very own people, totally committed to doing good deeds.
  • So God created human beings in his own image.
    In the image of God he created them;
    male and female he created them.
  • So Jesus told them, “My message is not my own; it comes from God who sent me.”
  • Keep the Sabbath day holy.
    Don’t pursue your own interests on that day,
    but enjoy the Sabbath
    and speak of it with delight as the Lord’s holy day.
    Honor the Sabbath in everything you do on that day,
    and don’t follow your own desires or talk idly.
    Then the Lord will be your delight.
    I will give you great honor
    and satisfy you with the inheritance I promised to your ancestor Jacob.
    I, the Lord, have spoken!
  • Run from sexual sin! No other sin so clearly affects the body as this one does. For sexual immorality is a sin against your own body.
  • The husband should fulfill his wife’s sexual needs, and the wife should fulfill her husband’s needs. The wife gives authority over her body to her husband, and the husband gives authority over his body to his wife.
  • All the believers were united in heart and mind. And they felt that what they owned was not their own, so they shared everything they had.
  • In the same way, some think one day is more holy than another day, while others think every day is alike. You should each be fully convinced that whichever day you choose is acceptable.
  • Who are you to condemn someone else’s servants? Their own master will judge whether they stand or fall. And with the Lord’s help, they will stand and receive his approval.
  • To acquire wisdom is to love yourself;
    people who cherish understanding will prosper.
  • Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged.
  • He chose to give birth to us by giving us his true word. And we, out of all creation, became his prized possession.

No one can know a person’s thoughts except that person’s own spirit, and no one can know God’s thoughts except God’s own Spirit.
