- But because of cases of sexual immorality, each man should have his own wife and each woman her own husband.
- Do not seek your own advantage, but that of the other.
- Why do you see the speck in your neighbor's eye, but do not notice the log in your own eye?
- You have the fringe so that, when you see it, you will remember all the commandments of the Lord and do them, and not follow the lust of your own heart and your own eyes.
- In the same way, husbands should love their wives as they do their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.
- For not by their own sword did they win the land,
nor did their own arm give them victory;
but your right hand, and your arm,
and the light of your countenance,
for you delighted in them. - For ‘In him we live and move and have our being’; as even some of your own poets have said,
‘For we too are his offspring.’ - So do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring worries of its own. Today's trouble is enough for today.
- He who did not withhold his own Son, but gave him up for all of us, will he not with him also give us everything else?
- Do not be wise in your own eyes;
fear the Lord, and turn away from evil.
It will be a healing for your flesh
and a refreshment for your body. - The husband should give to his wife her conjugal rights, and likewise the wife to her husband. For the wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does; likewise the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does.
- If you refrain from trampling the sabbath,
from pursuing your own interests on my holy day;
if you call the sabbath a delight
and the holy day of the Lord honorable;
if you honor it, not going your own ways,
serving your own interests, or pursuing your own affairs;
then you shall take delight in the Lord,
and I will make you ride upon the heights of the earth;
I will feed you with the heritage of your ancestor Jacob,
for the mouth of the Lord has spoken. - Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
and do not rely on your own insight.
In all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make straight your paths. - All deeds are right in the sight of the doer,
but the Lord weighs the heart. - Some judge one day to be better than another, while others judge all days to be alike. Let all be fully convinced in their own minds.
- He it is who gave himself for us that he might redeem us from all iniquity and purify for himself a people of his own who are zealous for good deeds.
- Who are you to pass judgment on servants of another? It is before their own lord that they stand or fall. And they will be upheld, for the Lord is able to make them stand.
- In fulfillment of his own purpose he gave us birth by the word of truth, so that we would become a kind of first fruits of his creatures.
- Love is patient; love is kind; love is not envious or boastful or arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful.
- His divine power has given us everything needed for life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.
- So God created humankind in his image,
in the image of God he created them;
male and female he created them. - Who saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works but according to his own purpose and grace. This grace was given to us in Christ Jesus before the ages began.
- If you sow to your own flesh, you will reap corruption from the flesh; but if you sow to the Spirit, you will reap eternal life from the Spirit.
- But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to make this freewill offering? For all things come from you, and of your own have we given you.
- Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, which you have from God, and that you are not your own? For you were bought with a price; therefore glorify God in your body.
But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's own people, in order that you may proclaim the mighty acts of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.Jesus answered him, “Those who love me will keep my word, and my Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.” For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be the glory forever. Amen.Next verse!With image
