be lazy and become a slave. - So be on your guard, not asleep like the others. Stay alert and be clearheaded.

associate with fools and get in trouble. - And I will put my Spirit in you so that you will follow my decrees and be careful to obey my regulations.
- I have revealed you to them, and I will continue to do so. Then your love for me will be in them, and I will be in them.

Get your sins out of my sight.
Give up your evil ways. - Charm is deceptive, and beauty does not last;
but a woman who fears the Lord will be greatly praised. - This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.
- What are you waiting for? Get up and be baptized. Have your sins washed away by calling on the name of the Lord.
- If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
- Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.

I, the Lord, have spoken! - Stay on the path that the Lord your God has commanded you to follow. Then you will live long and prosperous lives in the land you are about to enter and occupy.

- Then the disciple who had reached the tomb first also went in, and he saw and believed— for until then they still hadn’t understood the Scriptures that said Jesus must rise from the dead.
- Don’t lie to each other, for you have stripped off your old sinful nature and all its wicked deeds. Put on your new nature, and be renewed as you learn to know your Creator and become like him.
- Dear brothers and sisters, if another believer is overcome by some sin, you who are godly should gently and humbly help that person back onto the right path. And be careful not to fall into the same temptation yourself.
- So then, since Christ suffered physical pain, you must arm yourselves with the same attitude he had, and be ready to suffer, too. For if you have suffered physically for Christ, you have finished with sin.
