- Keep me safe, my God,
for in you I take refuge. - Diligent hands will rule,
but laziness ends in forced labor. - Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.
- And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.
- Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love,
for I have put my trust in you.
Show me the way I should go,
for to you I entrust my life. - In God, whose word I praise—
in God I trust and am not afraid.
What can mere mortals do to me? - Above his head they placed the written charge against him: this is jesus, the king of the jews.
- But in your great mercy you did not put an end to them or abandon them, for you are a gracious and merciful God.
- But when you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face, so that it will not be obvious to others that you are fasting, but only to your Father, who is unseen; and your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.
- Wash and make yourselves clean.
Take your evil deeds out of my sight;
stop doing wrong. - Do you think I cannot call on my Father, and he will at once put at my disposal more than twelve legions of angels?
- Be strong and take heart,
all you who hope in the Lord. - “Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.”
- Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.
- His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’
- Every word of God is flawless;
he is a shield to those who take refuge in him. - For you, God, tested us;
you refined us like silver. - No one lights a lamp and hides it in a clay jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, they put it on a stand, so that those who come in can see the light.
- Blessed is the one
whose transgressions are forgiven,
whose sins are covered. - If you listen carefully to the Lord your God and do what is right in his eyes, if you pay attention to his commands and keep all his decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the Lord, who heals you.
- Trust in the Lord and do good;
dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. - And now, dear children, continue in him, so that when he appears we may be confident and unashamed before him at his coming.
- He replied, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.”
- Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
- Do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear. For life is more than food, and the body more than clothes.
Guide me in your truth and teach me,
for you are God my Savior,
and my hope is in you all day long.Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.Next verse!With image
