Romans 6-23 (3/4)

  • Let every person be subject to the governing authorities; for there is no authority except from God, and those authorities that exist have been instituted by God.
  • For the same reason you also pay taxes, for the authorities are God's servants, busy with this very thing.
  • Pay to all what is due them—taxes to whom taxes are due, revenue to whom revenue is due, respect to whom respect is due, honor to whom honor is due.
  • Owe no one anything, except to love one another; for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law.
  • The commandments, “You shall not commit adultery; You shall not murder; You shall not steal; You shall not covet”; and any other commandment, are summed up in this word, “Love your neighbor as yourself.”
  • Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore, love is the fulfilling of the law.
  • Instead, put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires.
  • Welcome those who are weak in faith, but not for the purpose of quarreling over opinions.
  • Those who eat must not despise those who abstain, and those who abstain must not pass judgment on those who eat; for God has welcomed them.
  • Who are you to pass judgment on servants of another? It is before their own lord that they stand or fall. And they will be upheld, for the Lord is able to make them stand.
  • Some judge one day to be better than another, while others judge all days to be alike. Let all be fully convinced in their own minds.
  • If we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord; so then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord's.
  • For it is written,
“As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to me,
and every tongue shall give praise to God.”
  • Let us therefore no longer pass judgment on one another, but resolve instead never to put a stumbling block or hindrance in the way of another.
  • Each of us must please our neighbor for the good purpose of building up the neighbor.
  • For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, so that by steadfastness and by the encouragement of the scriptures we might have hope.
  • May the God of steadfastness and encouragement grant you to live in harmony with one another, in accordance with Christ Jesus.
  • Welcome one another, therefore, just as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God.
  • May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
  • So that by God's will I may come to you with joy and be refreshed in your company.
  • I urge you, brothers and sisters, to keep an eye on those who cause dissensions and offenses, in opposition to the teaching that you have learned; avoid them.
  • The God of peace will shortly crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
  • Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
  • For I am longing to see you so that I may share with you some spiritual gift to strengthen you— or rather so that we may be mutually encouraged by each other's faith, both yours and mine.
  • For I am not ashamed of the gospel; it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who has faith, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.

For in it the righteousness of God is revealed through faith for faith; as it is written, “The one who is righteous will live by faith.”

Bible verse of the day

The Rock, his work is perfect,
and all his ways are just.
A faithful God, without deceit,
just and upright is he.
