- For we are both God’s workers. And you are God’s field. You are God’s building.

and make all your plans succeed. - And why worry about a speck in your friend’s eye when you have a log in your own?
- Giving a gift can open doors;
it gives access to important people! - Help us, O God of our salvation!
Help us for the glory of your name.
Save us and forgive our sins
for the honor of your name. - There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you?

When disaster strikes, you won’t have to ask your brother for assistance.
It’s better to go to a neighbor than to a brother who lives far away. - Then he said, “Beware! Guard against every kind of greed. Life is not measured by how much you own.”
- Wise words bring approval,
but fools are destroyed by their own words. - No one has ever seen God. But the unique One, who is himself God, is near to the Father’s heart. He has revealed God to us.
- We all come to the end of our lives as naked and empty-handed as on the day we were born. We can’t take our riches with us.
- He will judge everyone according to what they have done.
- Pay your taxes, too, for these same reasons. For government workers need to be paid. They are serving God in what they do.
- Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.
- For I assisted the poor in their need
and the orphans who required help.
I helped those without hope, and they blessed me.
And I caused the widows’ hearts to sing for joy. - If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake and for the sake of the Good News, you will save it.
- You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body
and knit me together in my mother’s womb.
Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex!
Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it. - If you claim to be religious but don’t control your tongue, you are fooling yourself, and your religion is worthless.
- And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.
- Then I observed that most people are motivated to success because they envy their neighbors. But this, too, is meaningless—like chasing the wind.

- But the love of the Lord remains forever
with those who fear him.
His salvation extends to the children’s children
of those who are faithful to his covenant,
of those who obey his commandments! - We can make our plans,
but the Lord determines our steps. - So there is a special rest still waiting for the people of God. For all who have entered into God’s rest have rested from their labors, just as God did after creating the world.
- A fool is quick-tempered,
but a wise person stays calm when insulted. - I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them away from me, for my Father has given them to me, and he is more powerful than anyone else. No one can snatch them from the Father’s hand. The Father and I are one.
