Bible Verses about 'Samuel 1:1'
- The Lord makes some poor and others rich;
he brings some down and lifts others up. - No one is holy like the Lord!
There is no one besides you;
there is no Rock like our God. - But the Lord said to Samuel, “Don’t judge by his appearance or height, for I have rejected him. The Lord doesn’t see things the way you see them. People judge by outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”
- But be sure to fear the Lord and faithfully serve him. Think of all the wonderful things he has done for you.

Who but our God is a solid rock? - God’s way is perfect.
All the Lord’s promises prove true.
He is a shield for all who look to him for protection. - How great you are, O Sovereign Lord! There is no one like you. We have never even heard of another God like you!

and the Word was God. - I made a covenant with my eyes
not to look with lust at a young woman. - Wash yourselves and be clean!
Get your sins out of my sight.
Give up your evil ways. - Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see.
- But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God.
- All honor and glory to God forever and ever! He is the eternal King, the unseen one who never dies; he alone is God. Amen.
- Oh, the joys of those who do not
follow the advice of the wicked,
or stand around with sinners,
or join in with mockers. - The greater my wisdom, the greater my grief.
To increase knowledge only increases sorrow. - O Lord, I have come to you for protection;
don’t let me be disgraced.
Save me, for you do what is right. - But now you must be holy in everything you do, just as God who chose you is holy.
For the Scriptures say, “You must be holy because I am holy.” - Learn to do good.
Seek justice.
Help the oppressed.
Defend the cause of orphans.
Fight for the rights of widows. - The message of the cross is foolish to those who are headed for destruction! But we who are being saved know it is the very power of God.
- Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry.
- He chose to give birth to us by giving us his true word. And we, out of all creation, became his prized possession.
- I look up to the mountains—
does my help come from there?
My help comes from the Lord,
who made heaven and earth! - No one has ever seen God. But the unique One, who is himself God, is near to the Father’s heart. He has revealed God to us.
- For I know that as you pray for me and the Spirit of Jesus Christ helps me, this will lead to my deliverance.
- “The time promised by God has come at last!” he announced. “The Kingdom of God is near! Repent of your sins and believe the Good News!”
- So prepare your minds for action and exercise self-control. Put all your hope in the gracious salvation that will come to you when Jesus Christ is revealed to the world.
- And remember, when you are being tempted, do not say, “God is tempting me.” God is never tempted to do wrong, and he never tempts anyone else.
- Obviously, I’m not trying to win the approval of people, but of God. If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ’s servant.

- God blesses those who patiently endure testing and temptation. Afterward they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.
- For he has rescued us from the kingdom of darkness and transferred us into the Kingdom of his dear Son, who purchased our freedom and forgave our sins.
- Whatever is good and perfect is a gift coming down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow.
- “All right, you may test him,” the Lord said to Satan. “Do whatever you want with everything he possesses, but don’t harm him physically.” So Satan left the Lord’s presence.
- But God had mercy on me so that Christ Jesus could use me as a prime example of his great patience with even the worst sinners. Then others will realize that they, too, can believe in him and receive eternal life.
- So the Word became human and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son.
- For the word of God will never fail.
- I appeal to you, dear brothers and sisters, by the authority of our Lord Jesus Christ, to live in harmony with each other. Let there be no divisions in the church. Rather, be of one mind, united in thought and purpose.
- Have mercy on me, O God,
because of your unfailing love.
Because of your great compassion,
blot out the stain of my sins.
Wash me clean from my guilt.
Purify me from my sin. - This Good News tells us how God makes us right in his sight. This is accomplished from start to finish by faith. As the Scriptures say, “It is through faith that a righteous person has life.”
- “Come now, let’s settle this,”
says the Lord.
“Though your sins are like scarlet,
I will make them as white as snow.
Though they are red like crimson,
I will make them as white as wool.” - And do everything with love.
- We love each other because he loved us first.
- The grapevines have dried up,
and the fig trees have withered.
The pomegranate trees, palm trees, and apple trees—
all the fruit trees—have dried up.
And the people’s joy has dried up with them. - For you know that God paid a ransom to save you from the empty life you inherited from your ancestors. And it was not paid with mere gold or silver, which lose their value. It was the precious blood of Christ, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God.
- Do not judge others, and you will not be judged.
- I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the confident hope he has given to those he called—his holy people who are his rich and glorious inheritance.
