Say (3/4)

  • Then Peter came up and said to him, “Lord, how often will my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? As many as seven times?” Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you seven times, but seventy-seven times.”
  • “All things are lawful,” but not all things are helpful. “All things are lawful,” but not all things build up.
  • Thus, when you give to the needy, sound no trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may be praised by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward.
  • Hear, my son, and accept my words,
    that the years of your life may be many.
  • Even before a word is on my tongue,
    behold, O Lord, you know it altogether.
  • When I thought, “My foot slips,”
    your steadfast love, O Lord, held me up.
  • Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.
  • Turn back, and say to Hezekiah the leader of my people, Thus says the Lord, the God of David your father: I have heard your prayer; I have seen your tears. Behold, I will heal you. On the third day you shall go up to the house of the Lord.
  • Jesus said, “Truly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or lands, for my sake and for the gospel, who will not receive a hundredfold now in this time, houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions, and in the age to come eternal life.”
  • Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
  • And I fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to me, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?’
  • The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.
  • My son, be attentive to my words;
    incline your ear to my sayings.
    Let them not escape from your sight;
    keep them within your heart.
  • Therefore I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven people, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven.
  • Jesus said to her, “Did I not tell you that if you believed you would see the glory of God?”
  • Wait for the Lord;
    be strong, and let your heart take courage;
    wait for the Lord!
  • “All things are lawful for me,” but not all things are helpful. “All things are lawful for me,” but I will not be dominated by anything.
  • Just so, I tell you, there is joy before the angels of God over one sinner who repents.
  • Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content.
  • But above all, my brothers, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or by any other oath, but let your “yes” be yes and your “no” be no, so that you may not fall under condemnation.
  • If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen.
  • I tell you, on the day of judgment people will give account for every careless word they speak.
  • For we all stumble in many ways. And if anyone does not stumble in what he says, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle his whole body.
  • Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?
  • But I with the voice of thanksgiving
    will sacrifice to you;
    what I have vowed I will pay.
    Salvation belongs to the Lord!

Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.

And he said to them, “Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has risen; he is not here. See the place where they laid him.”
