- By faith he received power of procreation, even though he was too old—and Sarah herself was barren—because he considered him faithful who had promised.

and the flame shall not consume you. - Before the mountains were brought forth,
or ever you had formed the earth and the world,
from everlasting to everlasting you are God. - But when they saw him walking on the sea, they thought it was a ghost and cried out; for they all saw him and were terrified. But immediately he spoke to them and said, “Take heart, it is I; do not be afraid.”
- Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us,
and prosper for us the work of our hands—
O prosper the work of our hands! - Because you are precious in my sight,
and honored, and I love you,
I give people in return for you,
nations in exchange for your life. - And those who know your name put their trust in you,
for you, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek you. - O Lord, you are my God;
I will exalt you, I will praise your name;
for you have done wonderful things,
plans formed of old, faithful and sure. - Because if you confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
- Those of steadfast mind you keep in peace—
in peace because they trust in you. - I will never forget your precepts,
for by them you have given me life. - You then, my child, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.
- Ever since the creation of the world his eternal power and divine nature, invisible though they are, have been understood and seen through the things he has made. So they are without excuse.
- I, I am he who comforts you;
why then are you afraid of a mere mortal who must die,
a human being who fades like grass? - I hereby command you: Be strong and courageous; do not be frightened or dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.
- It is you who light my lamp;
the Lord, my God, lights up my darkness.
