- The sum of your word is truth;
and every one of your righteous ordinances endures forever. - Hear, O Israel: The Lord is our God, the Lord alone. You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might.
- Pray then in this way:
Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name.
Your kingdom come.
Your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven. - Teach me to do your will,
for you are my God.
Let your good spirit lead me
on a level path. - Be mindful of your mercy, O Lord, and of your steadfast love,
for they have been from of old.
Do not remember the sins of my youth or my transgressions;
according to your steadfast love remember me,
for your goodness' sake, O Lord! - Hear my prayer, O Lord;
give ear to my supplications in your faithfulness;
answer me in your righteousness. - Commit your way to the Lord;
trust in him, and he will act.
He will make your vindication shine like the light,
and the justice of your cause like the noonday. - The Lord will keep you from all evil;
he will keep your life.
The Lord will keep
your going out and your coming in
from this time on and forevermore. - Banish anxiety from your mind, and put away pain from your body; for youth and the dawn of life are vanity.
- Help us, O God of our salvation,
for the glory of your name;
deliver us, and forgive our sins,
for your name's sake. - I shall walk at liberty,
for I have sought your precepts. - Do not forsake your friend or the friend of your parent;
do not go to the house of your kindred in the day of your calamity.
Better is a neighbor who is nearby
than kindred who are far away. - But when you give alms, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your alms may be done in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you.
- You show me the path of life.
In your presence there is fullness of joy;
in your right hand are pleasures forevermore. - I have swept away your transgressions like a cloud,
and your sins like mist;
return to me, for I have redeemed you. - You shall not covet your neighbor's house; you shall not covet your neighbor's wife, or male or female slave, or ox, or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.
- I hurry and do not delay
to keep your commandments. - If your right eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away; it is better for you to lose one of your members than for your whole body to be thrown into hell.
- Do not be wise in your own eyes;
fear the Lord, and turn away from evil.
It will be a healing for your flesh
and a refreshment for your body. - You have given me the shield of your salvation,
and your right hand has supported me;
your help has made me great.
You gave me a wide place for my steps under me,
and my feet did not slip. - When I thought, “My foot is slipping,”
your steadfast love, O Lord, held me up. - You shall not hate in your heart anyone of your kin; you shall reprove your neighbor, or you will incur guilt yourself. You shall not take vengeance or bear a grudge against any of your people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the Lord.
- You shall not murder; You shall not commit adultery; You shall not steal; You shall not bear false witness; Honor your father and mother; also, You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
- Your word is a lamp to my feet
and a light to my path. - You are my hiding place and my shield;
I hope in your word.
