- If they still refuse to listen, tell it to the church; and if they refuse to listen even to the church, treat them as you would a pagan or a tax collector.
- Now, brothers and sisters, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.
- Teach us to number our days,
that we may gain a heart of wisdom. - Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.
- Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen:
to loose the chains of injustice
and untie the cords of the yoke,
to set the oppressed free
and break every yoke? - And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’
- This is what the Lord says to Israel: “Seek me and live.”
- Jesus replied, “Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be done.”
- Then I acknowledged my sin to you
and did not cover up my iniquity.
I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord.”
And you forgave the guilt of my sin. - His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.
- Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
- Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For on him God the Father has placed his seal of approval.
- Then he called the crowd to him along with his disciples and said: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.”
- But very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you.
- The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous,
and his ears are attentive to their cry. - The end of all things is near. Therefore be alert and of sober mind so that you may pray.
- The unfolding of your words gives light;
it gives understanding to the simple. - Every word of God is flawless;
he is a shield to those who take refuge in him. - Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;
his love endures forever. - So that I may come to you with joy, by God’s will, and in your company be refreshed.
- Sing to the Lord, for he has done glorious things;
let this be known to all the world. - Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name;
make known among the nations what he has done. - The Lord is near to all who call on him,
to all who call on him in truth. - He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.”
- “‘If you can’?” said Jesus. “Everything is possible for one who believes.”
When you fast, do not look somber as the hypocrites do, for they disfigure their faces to show others they are fasting. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full.Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.
