Bible Verses about 'Upright'
- I will praise you with an upright heart
as I learn your righteous laws. - He holds success in store for the upright,
he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless. - The integrity of the upright guides them,
but the unfaithful are destroyed by their duplicity. - See, the enemy is puffed up;
his desires are not upright—
but the righteous person will live by his faithfulness. - He is the Rock, his works are perfect,
and all his ways are just.
A faithful God who does no wrong,
upright and just is he. - Good and upright is the Lord;
therefore he instructs sinners in his ways.
He guides the humble in what is right
and teaches them his way. - Do not envy the violent
or choose any of their ways.
For the Lord detests the perverse
but takes the upright into his confidence. - The way of the Lord is a refuge for the blameless,
but it is the ruin of those who do evil. - For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age.
- For the word of the Lord is right and true;
he is faithful in all he does. - Who is wise? Let them realize these things.
Who is discerning? Let them understand.
The ways of the Lord are right;
the righteous walk in them,
but the rebellious stumble in them. - I instruct you in the way of wisdom
and lead you along straight paths. - Teach me to do your will,
for you are my God;
may your good Spirit
lead me on level ground. - For the practices of the peoples are worthless;
they cut a tree out of the forest,
and a craftsman shapes it with his chisel.
They adorn it with silver and gold;
they fasten it with hammer and nails
so it will not totter.
Like a scarecrow in a cucumber field,
their idols cannot speak;
they must be carried
because they cannot walk.
Do not fear them;
they can do no harm
nor can they do any good. - Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
- Whoever walks in integrity walks securely,
but whoever takes crooked paths will be found out. - The one whose walk is blameless,
who does what is righteous,
who speaks the truth from their heart;
whose tongue utters no slander,
who does no wrong to a neighbor,
and casts no slur on others.
