- So that by God's will I may come to you with joy and be refreshed in your company.

May the Lord bless his people with peace! - Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly; do not claim to be wiser than you are.

- I baptize you with water for repentance, but one who is more powerful than I is coming after me; I am not worthy to carry his sandals. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.
- Pursue peace with everyone, and the holiness without which no one will see the Lord.
- If only they had such a mind as this, to fear me and to keep all my commandments always, so that it might go well with them and with their children forever!
- Jesus then said, “I will be with you a little while longer, and then I am going to him who sent me.”
- Keep your heart with all vigilance,
for from it flow the springs of life. - Since therefore Christ suffered in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same intention (for whoever has suffered in the flesh has finished with sin).
- See, I am coming soon; my reward is with me, to repay according to everyone's work.
- Therefore, since we are justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
- But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.
- And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, to be with you forever.

when I learn your righteous ordinances. - I myself did not know him, but the one who sent me to baptize with water said to me, ‘He on whom you see the Spirit descend and remain is the one who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.’
- With their mouths the godless would destroy their neighbors,
but by knowledge the righteous are delivered. - The God of peace will shortly crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
