For once you were full of darkness, but now you have light… Ephesians 5:8

For once you were full of darkness, but now you have light from the Lord. So live as people of light! Ephesians 5:8	For at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light. light children life
Stay on the path that the Lord your God has commanded you to follow. Then you will live long and prosperous lives in the land you are about to enter and occupy. Deuteronomy 5:33	You shall walk in all the way that the Lord your God has commanded you, that you may live, and that it may go well with you, and that you may live long in the land that you shall possess. obedience reward following

And if you do good only to those who do good to you, why should you get credit? Even sinners do that much! Luke 6:33	And if you do good to those who do good to you, what benefit is that to you? For even sinners do the same. righteousness reward
Repent of your sins and turn to God, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near. Matthew 3:2	Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. repentance kingdom heaven
Do what is good and run from evil so that you may live! Then the Lord God of Heaven’s Armies will be your helper, just as you have claimed. Amos 5:14	Seek good, and not evil, that you may live; and so the Lord, the God of hosts, will be with you, as you have said. holiness reward seeking
Seek the Lord, all who are humble, and follow his commands. Seek to do what is right and to live humbly. Perhaps even yet the Lord will protect you— protect you from his anger on that day of destruction. Zephaniah 2:3	Seek the Lord, all you humble of the land, who do his just commands; seek righteousness; seek humility; perhaps you may be hidden on the day of the anger of the Lord. seeking protection humility
So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other. John 13:34	A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. law love neighbor
But when you are arrested and stand trial, don’t worry in advance about what to say. Just say what God tells you at that time, for it is not you who will be speaking, but the Holy Spirit. Mark 13:11	And when they bring you to trial and deliver you over, do not be anxious beforehand what you are to say, but say whatever is given you in that hour, for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit. speaking Spirit worrying
Do not add to or subtract from these commands I am giving you. Just obey the commands of the Lord your God that I am giving you. Deuteronomy 4:2	You shall not add to the word that I command you, nor take from it, that you may keep the commandments of the Lord your God that I command you. obedience law following
Jesus said to the people who believed in him, “You are truly my disciples if you remain faithful to my teachings. And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” John 8:31-32	So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” truth Word of God following
And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful. Colossians 3:15	And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful. Jesus peace gratitude
But even if you suffer for doing what is right, God will reward you for it. So don’t worry or be afraid of their threats. 1 Peter 3:14	But even if you should suffer for righteousness' sake, you will be blessed. Have no fear of them, nor be troubled. righteousness suffering fear
Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20	Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body. worship Spirit life
Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and that the Master you are serving is Christ. Colossians 3:23-24	Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ. reward life receiving
Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world. James 4:8	Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. sin purification righteousness
I have written this to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know you have eternal life. 1 John 5:13	I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life. eternal life faith Jesus
Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do, because you are his dear children. Ephesians 5:1	Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. children following
Of all the marine animals, you may eat whatever has both fins and scales. You may not, however, eat marine animals that do not have both fins and scales. They are ceremonially unclean for you. Deuteronomy 14:9-10	Of all that are in the waters you may eat these: whatever has fins and scales you may eat. And whatever does not have fins and scales you shall not eat; it is unclean for you. food
You must be holy because I, the Lord, am holy. I have set you apart from all other people to be my very own. Leviticus 20:26	You shall be holy to me, for I the Lord am holy and have separated you from the peoples, that you should be mine. holiness life
When you obey my commandments, you remain in my love, just as I obey my Father’s commandments and remain in his love. John 15:10	If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments and abide in his love. law love Jesus
You must be compassionate, just as your Father is compassionate. Luke 6:36	Be merciful, even as your Father is merciful. goodness neighbor Father
So you must remain faithful to what you have been taught from the beginning. If you do, you will remain in fellowship with the Son and with the Father. 1 John 2:24	Let what you heard from the beginning abide in you. If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, then you too will abide in the Son and in the Father. listening evangelism Jesus
For God called you to do good, even if it means suffering, just as Christ suffered for you. He is your example, and you must follow in his steps. 1 Peter 2:21	For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you might follow in his steps. suffering following calling
You love him even though you have never seen him. Though you do not see him now, you trust him; and you rejoice with a glorious, inexpressible joy. The reward for trusting him will be the salvation of your souls. 1 Peter 1:8-9	Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory, obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls. faith joy salvation
Do to others whatever you would like them to do to you. This is the essence of all that is taught in the law and the prophets. Matthew 7:12	So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets. law neighbor relationships

That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing?

Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?
