The angel answered, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. Therefore, the child to be born will be holy, and he will be called the Son of God.” | And the angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God.” |
Those who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God. | For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. |

For a child has been born to us, a son has been given to us. Upon his shoulders dominion rests, and this is the name he has been given: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace. | For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. |
Hence, be imitators of God, as beloved children. | Therefore be imitators of God as dear children. |
For everyone born of God conquers the world. And the victory that conquers the world is our faith. | For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. |
Beloved, let us love one another, because love is from God. Everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. | Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. |
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God. | Blessed are the peacemakers, For they shall be called sons of God. |
Can a woman forget the infant at her breast; or feel no compassion for the child of her womb? Even should she forget, I will never forget you. Behold, I have inscribed your name on the palms of my hands; your walls are continually before my eyes. | Can a woman forget her nursing child, And not have compassion on the son of her womb? Surely they may forget, Yet I will not forget you. See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands; Your walls are continually before Me. |
As for you, my child, take strength from the grace that is in Christ Jesus. | You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. |
Jesus replied, “Blessed, rather, are those who hear the word of God and obey it!” | But He said, “More than that, blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it!” |
Train a child in the way he should go, and he will not deviate from it, even in old age. | Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it. |
God abides in anyone who acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, and that person abides in God. | Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. |
Every word of God has proved to be true; he is a shield to those who trust in him. | Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him. |
And said to them, “Whoever receives this child in my name receives me; and whoever receives me receives the one who sent me. For the one who is least among all of you is the one who is the greatest.” | And said to them, “Whoever receives this little child in My name receives Me; and whoever receives Me receives Him who sent Me. For he who is least among you all will be great.” |
Cure the sick who are there, and say, ‘The kingdom of God has come unto you.’ | And heal the sick there, and say to them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’ |
Who indeed conquers the world except the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? | Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? |
The birth of Jesus Christ occurred in this way. When his mother Mary was engaged to Joseph, but before they came to live together, she was found to be with child through the Holy Spirit. | Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: After His mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit. |
And take the helmet of salvation as well as the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. | And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. |
Jesus replied, “This is the work of God: to believe in the one whom he has sent.” | Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent.” |

Just as you do not know the path of the wind or how the body is formed in a woman’s womb, so you do not know the work of God, the Creator of all. | As you do not know what is the way of the wind, Or how the bones grow in the womb of her who is with child, So you do not know the works of God who makes everything. |
The Spirit himself bears witness with our Spirit that we are children of God. | The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God. |
Therefore, accept one another for the glory of God, just as Christ has accepted you. | Therefore receive one another, just as Christ also received us, to the glory of God. |
