Sin (4/6)

  • Who is a God like you, pardoning iniquity
    and passing over transgression
    for the remnant of his inheritance?
    He does not retain his anger forever,
    because he delights in steadfast love.
  • For a day in your courts is better
    than a thousand elsewhere.
    I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God
    than dwell in the tents of wickedness.
  • Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.
  • Better is the little that the righteous has
    than the abundance of many wicked.
    For the arms of the wicked shall be broken,
    but the Lord upholds the righteous.
  • If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church. And if he refuses to listen even to the church, let him be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector.
  • In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace.
  • The wicked earns deceptive wages,
    but one who sows righteousness gets a sure reward.
  • If your right eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away. For it is better that you lose one of your members than that your whole body be thrown into hell.
  • What then shall we say? That the law is sin? By no means! Yet if it had not been for the law, I would not have known sin. For I would not have known what it is to covet if the law had not said, “You shall not covet.”
  • The face of the Lord is against those who do evil,
    to cut off the memory of them from the earth.
  • He will again have compassion on us;
    he will tread our iniquities underfoot.
    You will cast all our sins
    into the depths of the sea.
  • If your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him, and if he sins against you seven times in the day, and turns to you seven times, saying, ‘I repent,’ you must forgive him.
  • Many shall purify themselves and make themselves white and be refined, but the wicked shall act wickedly. And none of the wicked shall understand, but those who are wise shall understand.
  • And now why do you wait? Rise and be baptized and wash away your sins, calling on his name.
  • He reveals deep and hidden things;
    he knows what is in the darkness,
    and the light dwells with him.
  • Therefore whatever you have said in the dark shall be heard in the light, and what you have whispered in private rooms shall be proclaimed on the housetops.
  • Help us, O God of our salvation,
    for the glory of your name;
    deliver us, and atone for our sins,
    for your name's sake!
  • God, having raised up his servant, sent him to you first, to bless you by turning every one of you from your wickedness.
  • Therefore I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven people, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven.
  • For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin.
  • He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world.
  • For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die— but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
  • For all who have sinned without the law will also perish without the law, and all who have sinned under the law will be judged by the law.
  • And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.
  • You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

And I will vindicate the holiness of my great name, which has been profaned among the nations, and which you have profaned among them. And the nations will know that I am the Lord, declares the Lord God, when through you I vindicate my holiness before their eyes.

And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.

I appeal to you, brothers, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be united in the same mind and the same judgment.Next verse!With image
