Chinese (traditional)Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, saying: “To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power, for ever and ever!” But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.” So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up. Sitting down, Jesus called the Twelve and said, “Anyone who wants to be first must be the very last, and the servant of all.” When hard pressed, I cried to the Lord;
he brought me into a spacious place. No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known. And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. Therefore, my friends, I want you to know that through Jesus the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you. Through him everyone who believes is set free from every sin, a justification you were not able to obtain under the law of Moses. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. Restore us, Lord God Almighty;
make your face shine on us,
that we may be saved. But whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life. Speak up and judge fairly;
defend the rights of the poor and needy. The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. From the Lord comes deliverance.
May your blessing be on your people. So then, let us not be like others, who are asleep, but let us be awake and sober. Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.” Ill-gotten treasures have no lasting value,
but righteousness delivers from death. For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly also be united with him in a resurrection like his. For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. So we say with confidence,
“The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid.
What can mere mortals do to me?” If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord. Whom have I in heaven but you?
And earth has nothing I desire besides you. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light. Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in the way of a brother or sister. Honor the Lord with your wealth,
with the firstfruits of all your crops. Who are you to judge someone else’s servant? To their own master, servants stand or fall. And they will stand, for the Lord is able to make them stand. They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household.” The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous,
and his ears are attentive to their cry. But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen. The righteous person may have many troubles,
but the Lord delivers him from them all. Who is he, this King of glory?
The Lord Almighty—
he is the King of glory.
