Chinese (traditional)For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die— but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. Be strong, and let your heart take courage,
all you who wait for the Lord! Have you not known? Have you not heard?
The Lord is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He does not faint or grow weary;
his understanding is unsearchable. For “Whoever desires to love life
and see good days,
let him keep his tongue from evil
and his lips from speaking deceit;
let him turn away from evil and do good;
let him seek peace and pursue it.” Whoever is slow to anger is better than the mighty,
and he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city. He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed. Religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world. So teach us to number our days
that we may get a heart of wisdom. Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? And not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. But even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows. And Jesus said to him, “‘If you can’! All things are possible for one who believes.” Whoever gets sense loves his own soul;
he who keeps understanding will discover good. And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. Let brotherly love continue. Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares. The father of the righteous will greatly rejoice;
he who fathers a wise son will be glad in him. Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever receives the one I send receives me, and whoever receives me receives the one who sent me. And he said to them, “Take care, and be on your guard against all covetousness, for one's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions.” You make known to me the path of life;
in your presence there is fullness of joy;
at your right hand are pleasures forevermore. For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures. I tell you, on the day of judgment people will give account for every careless word they speak. A friend loves at all times,
and a brother is born for adversity. For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him. The earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof,
the world and those who dwell therein. For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his soul? The grass withers, the flower fades,
but the word of our God will stand forever. Deliver me, O Lord,
from lying lips,
from a deceitful tongue. In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace. Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few. Preserve me, O God, for in you I take refuge. For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive. Deceit is in the heart of those who devise evil,
but those who plan peace have joy.
