For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart,
all ye that hope in the Lord. Hast thou not known?
hast thou not heard,
that the everlasting God, the Lord,
the Creator of the ends of the earth,
fainteth not, neither is weary?
there is no searching of his understanding. For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile: Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it. He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty;
and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city. Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world. So teach us to number our days,
that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom. Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows. Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. He that getteth wisdom loveth his own soul:
he that keepeth understanding shall find good. And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour. Let brotherly love continue. Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares. The father of the righteous shall greatly rejoice:
and he that begetteth a wise child shall have joy of him. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that receiveth whomsoever I send receiveth me; and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me. And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth. Thou wilt shew me the path of life:
in thy presence is fulness of joy;
at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures. But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. A friend loveth at all times,
and a brother is born for adversity. For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. The earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof;
the world, and they that dwell therein. For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? The grass withereth, the flower fadeth:
but the word of our God shall stand for ever. Deliver my soul, O Lord,
from lying lips,
and from a deceitful tongue. In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace. Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. Preserve me, O God:
for in thee do I put my trust. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. Who is this King of glory?
The Lord of hosts,
he is the King of glory. Selah.
