Chinese (traditional)Out of my distress I called on the Lord;
the Lord answered me and set me free. Who saved us and called us to a holy calling, not because of our works but because of his own purpose and grace, which he gave us in Christ Jesus before the ages began. For the Scripture says, “Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame.” Open your mouth, judge righteously,
defend the rights of the poor and needy. Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger. Who gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works. Search me, O God, and know my heart!
Try me and know my thoughts!
And see if there be any grievous way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting! So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets. Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth. The eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous
and his ears toward their cry. Because you are precious in my eyes,
and honored, and I love you,
I give men in return for you,
peoples in exchange for your life. He who calls you is faithful; he will surely do it. A fool despises his father's instruction,
but whoever heeds reproof is prudent. And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture. When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known. Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. A dishonest man spreads strife,
and a whisperer separates close friends. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? Nevertheless, do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven. But I will sing of your strength;
I will sing aloud of your steadfast love in the morning.
For you have been to me a fortress
and a refuge in the day of my distress. Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. The Lord our God be with us, as he was with our fathers. May he not leave us or forsake us. Treasures gained by wickedness do not profit,
but righteousness delivers from death. Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance. And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. This God—his way is perfect;
the word of the Lord proves true;
he is a shield for all those who take refuge in him. Therefore let us not pass judgment on one another any longer, but rather decide never to put a stumbling block or hindrance in the way of a brother. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. Praise the Lord! Blessed is the man who fears the Lord,
who greatly delights in his commandments! Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap.
