Chinese (traditional)In the night I search for you;
in the morning I earnestly seek you.
For only when you come to judge the earth
will people learn what is right. Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love. God blesses those who work for peace,
for they will be called the children of God. Dear friends, since God loved us that much, we surely ought to love each other. So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever. Whom have I in heaven but you?
I desire you more than anything on earth. And while they were there, the time came for her baby to be born. She gave birth to her firstborn son. She wrapped him snugly in strips of cloth and laid him in a manger, because there was no lodging available for them. “Don’t be afraid, Mary,” the angel told her, “for you have found favor with God! You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you will name him Jesus.” How beautiful on the mountains
are the feet of the messenger who brings good news,
the good news of peace and salvation,
the news that the God of Israel reigns! When the Gentiles sin, they will be destroyed, even though they never had God’s written law. And the Jews, who do have God’s law, will be judged by that law when they fail to obey it. If you obey all the decrees and commands I am giving you today, all will be well with you and your children. I am giving you these instructions so you will enjoy a long life in the land the Lord your God is giving you for all time. That is why I can never stop praising you;
I declare your glory all day long. Fear of the Lord is the foundation of true knowledge,
but fools despise wisdom and discipline. Don’t be afraid of those who want to kill your body; they cannot touch your soul. Fear only God, who can destroy both soul and body in hell. Seek the Lord while you can find him.
Call on him now while he is near. I correct and discipline everyone I love. So be diligent and turn from your indifference. The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent. You are my refuge and my shield;
your word is my source of hope. Again he said, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I am sending you.” So Jesus told them, “My message is not my own; it comes from God who sent me.” Fools have no interest in understanding;
they only want to air their own opinions. For if we are faithful to the end, trusting God just as firmly as when we first believed, we will share in all that belongs to Christ. Yours, O Lord, is the greatness, the power, the glory, the victory, and the majesty. Everything in the heavens and on earth is yours, O Lord, and this is your kingdom. We adore you as the one who is over all things. Give justice to the poor and the orphan;
uphold the rights of the oppressed and the destitute. So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved. As iron sharpens iron,
so a friend sharpens a friend. For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline. So if someone tells you, ‘Look, the Messiah is out in the desert,’ don’t bother to go and look. Or, ‘Look, he is hiding here,’ don’t believe it! For as the lightning flashes in the east and shines to the west, so it will be when the Son of Man comes. Your word is a lamp to guide my feet
and a light for my path. So you, too, must keep watch! For you don’t know what day your Lord is coming. Don’t be misled—you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant. You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. “For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.”Next verse!With image
