Chinese (traditional)My soul yearns for you in the night,
my spirit within me earnestly seeks you.
For when your judgments are in the earth,
the inhabitants of the world learn righteousness. And now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; and the greatest of these is love. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God. Beloved, since God loved us so much, we also ought to love one another. Because we look not at what can be seen but at what cannot be seen; for what can be seen is temporary, but what cannot be seen is eternal. Whom have I in heaven but you?
And there is nothing on earth that I desire other than you. While they were there, the time came for her to deliver her child. And she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in bands of cloth, and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn. The angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And now, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you will name him Jesus.” How beautiful upon the mountains
are the feet of the messenger who announces peace,
who brings good news,
who announces salvation,
who says to Zion, “Your God reigns.” All who have sinned apart from the law will also perish apart from the law, and all who have sinned under the law will be judged by the law. Keep his statutes and his commandments, which I am commanding you today for your own well-being and that of your descendants after you, so that you may long remain in the land that the Lord your God is giving you for all time. My mouth is filled with your praise,
and with your glory all day long. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge;
fools despise wisdom and instruction. Do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul; rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell. Seek the Lord while he may be found,
call upon him while he is near. I reprove and discipline those whom I love. Be earnest, therefore, and repent. The Lord is not slow about his promise, as some think of slowness, but is patient with you, not wanting any to perish, but all to come to repentance. You are my hiding place and my shield;
I hope in your word. Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I send you.” Then Jesus answered them, “My teaching is not mine but his who sent me.” A fool takes no pleasure in understanding,
but only in expressing personal opinion. For we have become partners of Christ, if only we hold our first confidence firm to the end. Yours, O Lord, are the greatness, the power, the glory, the victory, and the majesty; for all that is in the heavens and on the earth is yours; yours is the kingdom, O Lord, and you are exalted as head above all. Give justice to the weak and the orphan;
maintain the right of the lowly and the destitute. Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, so that he may exalt you in due time. For one believes with the heart and so is justified, and one confesses with the mouth and so is saved. Iron sharpens iron,
and one person sharpens the wits of another. For God did not give us a spirit of cowardice, but rather a spirit of power and of love and of self-discipline. So, if they say to you, ‘Look! He is in the wilderness,’ do not go out. If they say, ‘Look! He is in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it. For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes as far as the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. Your word is a lamp to my feet
and a light to my path. Keep awake therefore, for you do not know on what day your Lord is coming. Do not be deceived; God is not mocked, for you reap whatever you sow.
