Chinese (traditional)If I had the gift of prophecy, and if I understood all of God’s secret plans and possessed all knowledge, and if I had such faith that I could move mountains, but didn’t love others, I would be nothing. Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else? A gentle answer deflects anger,
but harsh words make tempers flare. For the whole law can be summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” For when we place our faith in Christ Jesus, there is no benefit in being circumcised or being uncircumcised. What is important is faith expressing itself in love. Great is the Lord! He is most worthy of praise!
No one can measure his greatness. But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God. And we are confident that he hears us whenever we ask for anything that pleases him. Direct your children onto the right path,
and when they are older, they will not leave it. So let’s stop condemning each other. Decide instead to live in such a way that you will not cause another believer to stumble and fall. Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? May he grant your heart’s desires
and make all your plans succeed. No one lights a lamp and then covers it with a bowl or hides it under a bed. A lamp is placed on a stand, where its light can be seen by all who enter the house. I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. For he satisfies the thirsty
and fills the hungry with good things. A good person produces good things from the treasury of a good heart, and an evil person produces evil things from the treasury of an evil heart. What you say flows from what is in your heart. Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results. Be still, and know that I am God!
I will be honored by every nation.
I will be honored throughout the world. Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. John replied, “If you have two shirts, give one to the poor. If you have food, share it with those who are hungry.” Fear of the Lord teaches wisdom;
humility precedes honor. If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Those who obey God’s commandments remain in fellowship with him, and he with them. And we know he lives in us because the Spirit he gave us lives in us. For his anger lasts only a moment,
but his favor lasts a lifetime!
Weeping may last through the night,
but joy comes with the morning. And “don’t sin by letting anger control you.” Don’t let the sun go down while you are still angry, for anger gives a foothold to the devil. “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” For who is God except the Lord?
Who but our God is a solid rock? If you love me, obey my commandments. Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you. Just as you cannot understand the path of the wind or the mystery of a tiny baby growing in its mother’s womb, so you cannot understand the activity of God, who does all things. And the Lord will be king over all the earth. On that day there will be one Lord—his name alone will be worshiped. Don’t be misled—you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant. Never! Can a mother forget her nursing child?
Can she feel no love for the child she has borne?
But even if that were possible,
I would not forget you!
See, I have written your name on the palms of my hands.
Always in my mind is a picture of Jerusalem’s walls in ruins.Next verse!With image
