God (4/4)

  • So God created mankind in his own image,
    in the image of God he created them;
    male and female he created them.
  • But I have been the Lord your God
    ever since you came out of Egypt.
    You shall acknowledge no God but me,
    no Savior except me.
  • Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord,
    the people he chose for his inheritance.
  • What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
  • And so I will show my greatness and my holiness, and I will make myself known in the sight of many nations. Then they will know that I am the Lord.
  • God is faithful, who has called you into fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
  • But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.
  • Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.
  • Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”
  • The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it,
    the world, and all who live in it.
  • May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.
  • I will be glad and rejoice in you;
    I will sing the praises of your name, O Most High.
  • For who is God besides the Lord?
    And who is the Rock except our God?
  • Our God is in heaven;
    he does whatever pleases him.
  • You adulterous people, don’t you know that friendship with the world means enmity against God? Therefore, anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.
  • The Almighty is beyond our reach and exalted in power;
    in his justice and great righteousness, he does not oppress.
  • He reveals deep and hidden things;
    he knows what lies in darkness,
    and light dwells with him.
  • He builds his lofty palace in the heavens
    and sets its foundation on the earth;
    he calls for the waters of the sea
    and pours them out over the face of the land—
    the Lord is his name.
  • A thousand years in your sight
    are like a day that has just gone by,
    or like a watch in the night.
  • And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
  • I will show the holiness of my great name, which has been profaned among the nations, the name you have profaned among them. Then the nations will know that I am the Lord, declares the Sovereign Lord, when I am proved holy through you before their eyes.
  • And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.”
  • You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that—and shudder.
  • This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the Lord Almighty.
  • To love him with all your heart, with all your understanding and with all your strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself is more important than all burnt offerings and sacrifices.

Bible verse of the day

It is written: ‘As surely as I live,’ says the Lord,

every tongue will acknowledge God.’
