- Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have God’s Son does not have life.

No one who takes refuge in him will be condemned. - That’s the whole story. Here now is my final conclusion: Fear God and obey his commands, for this is everyone’s duty.

He died for everyone so that those who receive his new life will no longer live for themselves. Instead, they will live for Christ, who died and was raised for them.
- By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence.
- Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.
- For if we are faithful to the end, trusting God just as firmly as when we first believed, we will share in all that belongs to Christ.
- So go ahead. Eat your food with joy, and drink your wine with a happy heart, for God approves of this!

But the righteous will live by their faithfulness to God. - Prove by the way you live that you have repented of your sins and turned to God.
